Too hectic and soul-less

I read this author's books as if they are romance cotton candy: quick, fluffy fun, watch the relationship events unfold, enjoy the inner and inter-character dialog. But this book bothered me. The young heroine, 23, caved unexpectedly and too early -- and with her boss, ten years older, who did not have to work at all for her interest. Does a woman, from Texas (where no female leaves the house without preparing herself for public view), show up unexpectedly at a man's doorstep, sweaty from a run? Who would do that? The love interest/boss, Dean, is self-consumed and difficult to like. He is eyes on the prize at all times. He does not mentor her well at her first job -- he does not explain what he wants, he takes her to meetings without preparing her, he fires her in front of people a couple times -- and generally treats her as if she were disposable and a nuisance. I was surprised to see this level of casual no-commitments "romance" from this author. No scenes where they meet each other's family, no dates, no harmony -- and all combative. It felt rushed at all times. Disappointed.

A pretty good and fun read :D

That's the first book I read by R.S. Grey and I quite enjoyed it. I cannot say that it was my favorite read but that can be because the book I read before that was simply extraordinary. Apart from that, the story is quite intriguing and definitely fun. On top of that, there are few quite steamy scenes that will definitely leave you hot and bothered. The characters are interesting, complex and well developed. The pace of the story is fast and this is definitely a light-hearted read with a lot of humor in it :) And if you are looking for more than that, you just need to meet Dean Harper. You will thank me once you do ;)
Dean Harper is a hotie :D Simply striking with his rough around the edges look and permanent scowl. His punch-you-in-the-gut brown eyes are just out-of-this-world mesmerizing and his unruly dirty blond hair just screams for woman's hands to run through it. But apart from all that hotness, he is also stubborn, stuck in his ways, dominant and pretty much a one-man island. He doesn't allow anyone to get close to him or interfere with his goals in life - to become the richest and most successful man in NY and to do that on his own.
Well, all that changes when he meets Lily. They are like oil and water and pretty much don't get along at all. Until all that frustrating tension between them turns into sexual one and then all bets are off. They cannot keep their hands off each other but they also cannot stop bickering with each other. And that brings all the fun in the story. Dean and Lily are simply hilarious when they are fighting. And the one thing they don't recognize for quite awhile is that they are so similar to each other. They do have to go through some heartache before they get their act together but the romantic gestures Dean does for Lily are definitely worthy. I wish I had a man like that around me ;)
In a few words, that's definitely a worthy read. It is fun and interesting and Dean is definitely one BBF you want to meet ;) So get your #oneclick finger working and check out this book ;)

GREAT READ!!!!

I have to say… I liked this book A LOT better than I liked Julian and Josephine’ story. I’m a big Fan of Grey and I think she truly has a gift for making you really connect with her characters. So I was a little disappointed when I read Julian and Josephine’s story and just felt… meh once it was over. THIS story though!! I love love LOVED this story! Lily and Dean blew my mind. Their banter and chemistry could be felt through the pages of the book, their attraction for one another was explosive and I absolutely adored them as a couple.
Lily has just moved to the big smoke and moved in with her bestie, Jospehine. She’s working on her food blog and with limited funds, knows that she needs to find a job ASAP. Enter, Dean Harper. Dean is a restaurant entrepreneur/connoisseur and it just so happens that he is hiring a bartender at his new restaurant. While Dean is out of town, Lily manages to snag a job and is an absolute hit with the bar patrons, however, a hit with Dean, she is not…..
As soon as Dean lays eyes on Lily, he knows she’s trouble. She’s reckless and a real spitfire that manages to push every single one of his buttons. What ensues is a funny, rollercoaster ride of awesome-ness as Dean and Lily try to work together and not rip the other person to pieces.
Grey writes characters that have depth and dimension. She keeps you immersed in the storyline and keeps a nice strong pace. Lily and Dean together was like magic. I honestly could not think of a couple that suit each other as much as these 2. I really enjoyed the fact that their story wasn’t straight forward, and I especially enjoyed the fact that it wasn’t easy . I liked that they found each other attractive and yet wanted to murder the other person before the day had even started, I think maybe the reason I liked this book more than Julian and Josephine’s was that I found Dean and Lily to be much more likeable characters. For one, I enjoy a bit more broodiness in my male leads, and Dean definitely delivers on this. Julian was just tooooo….. NICE. Dean was an a**hole and I loved it. Lily! She rocked my world. I love it when a book makes me laugh out loud and somebody has to ask me “what are you laughing at??” and then the eventual “why do you you keep laughing?” Why? You ask? Because this book was hilarious! LILY, was hilarious. She had the best sense of humor and her character spoke to me on so many levels.
It was nice to see Josephine and Julian make appearances again in this book and I do wonder who Grey’s next set of characters will be. I really enjoyed this book and I feel like I’ve discovered crack cocaine in the form of a book/series. This was a great read and I definitely recommended. Can’t wait to see what grey brings out next!
