About the Author
Kurt Mahler is a Texas native whose roots include the Rio Grande Valley. He writes at Waco's Anthem Studios. Kurt and his wife Karen raised their five children in Afghanistan, engaging in community development and building friendships before they moved to the Arabian Peninsula, where Kurt served as an educator. Kurt believes his most important accomplishments have been listening to people's stories and telling his own stories in return.

good food for a hungry heart

The Jaguar Oracle is a poetic and gratifying story, good food for a hungry heart. I got the sense that I was not only being entertained, but also that goodness and light were filling my heart as I read. This is a story of hope, bravery, and friendship, of recognizing and embracing one's true purpose. Getting attached to the plot and characters was effortless. I joined Jaguar on his journey, and I am rooting for him and his friends still. I wait with anticipation for the next book to be released. The Jaguar Oracle was delightful to read individually, and I also think it would be an excellent book for families to read together. Many ages will enjoy the story and illustrations.
Kurt Frederick Mahler is a talented storyteller, beautifully merging prose and poetry. His use of language was reminiscent of some other favorite authors like Paulo Coelho, Madeleine L'Engle, Walter Wangerin Jr., Frederick Buechner, and Annie Dillard.

Oracle, Determined to answer the call; Courageous to the end.

A Fascinating story with delightful characters(I absolutely love the raccoon). I appreciate the way the author weaves strong character traits and values throughout this wonderful tale of courage and determination. I'm looking forward to reading this to my grandchildren also. Wondering what exciting adventures await the "friends" in Book Two?

This book is full of fantasy and wit but also reflects an worldview about creation that is clearly inspired by the Bible account. The animals rediscover who they are meant to be based on the names Adam gave them. That was interesting and inspiring There are winsome characters including some of the humans. It was refreshing that the humans aren't the "bad guys". Can't wait to read the sequels.
